Sam was a cheerful little boy who loved playing football and riding his bicycle. But when it came to food, Sam had very clear favorites—chips, chocolates, pizza, and burgers.
Vegetables and fruits?
He always pushed them aside and said, “They’re boring and don’t taste good!”
Every day, Sam’s mother tried to explain,
“Healthy food helps you grow strong, Sam.”
But Sam only smiled and reached for junk food.
One afternoon, after school, Sam felt very tired. He didn’t feel like playing and even his favorite game seemed boring. Seeing this, his mother had an idea.
The next day at lunch, she served Sam a colorful plate and said happily,
“Today, you are going to eat a rainbow!”
Sam looked closely at his plate.
There were red tomatoes, orange carrots, yellow corn, green broccoli, and purple grapes.
“Mom,” Sam laughed, “this doesn’t look like a rainbow. It’s just vegetables and fruits!”
His mother smiled gently and said,
“Each color has a special power. Red keeps your heart healthy, green makes you strong, yellow gives energy, and fruits help your body stay active.”
Sam was curious. He picked up a carrot and took a small bite.
Crunch!
“It’s not bad,” he said in surprise.
He tried the grapes next—sweet and juicy!
Soon, Sam finished the whole plate.
That evening, something felt different. Sam had more energy. He ran faster while playing and didn’t feel tired quickly. The next morning, he woke up fresh and ready for school.
After a few days of eating from his rainbow plate, Sam noticed big changes.
He could focus better in class, play longer with his friends, and even felt happier.
At school, Sam told his friends about his colorful meals.
“My food is like a rainbow,” he said proudly.Soon, his friends also started bringing fruits and vegetables in their lunch boxes.
One day, Sam’s teacher praised the class and said,
“Healthy habits make healthy minds.”
Sam smiled. He finally understood what his mother had been teaching him all along.
From that day on, Sam still enjoyed treats sometimes, but he made sure his plate was always colorful and healthy.
He learned that eating healthy food every day helps the body grow strong, the mind stay sharp, and the heart feel happy.
And the rainbow plate became Sam’s favorite meal of all.
Moral: “Eating healthy food every day helps your body grow strong and happy.”
