In Rainbow School, the most exciting thing in Class 2 was their class pet—a cute little turtle named Tuffy.
Every week, one student got the chance to take care of Tuffy.
This week, it was Rishu’s turn.
Rishu was happy but also a little scared.
“What if I forget something?” he thought.
Ms. Leena smiled and said,
“Responsibility means doing your duties with care. I know you can do it.”
That day, Rishu checked everything—fresh water, clean bowl, and Tuffy’s tiny food pellets.
He even made a little chart that said:
- Morning: check water
- Afternoon: feed Tuffy
- Evening: clean bowl
For the first two days, Rishu followed his chart perfectly.
But on Wednesday, he got busy playing football and forgot to feed Tuffy.
When he came back to class, Tuffy was looking a little slow and tired.
Rishu felt terrible.
He quickly cleaned the bowl, gave fresh water, and gently fed Tuffy.
“I’m sorry, buddy… I’ll never forget again,” he whispered.
The next day, Rishu came early to check on Tuffy.
Tuffy was active and happy again!
Ms. Leena patted Rishu on the back and said,
“See? Taking responsibility means fixing mistakes and doing better next time.”
Rishu smiled proudly.
From that day on, he became the most responsible student in class—at home, in school, and even with his little chores.
Because he learned that responsibility makes you trustworthy… and trust makes you a leader.
Moral: Responsibility means taking care of your duties—even when it’s not easy.
